Writing a book like a Pro.
There are four simple techniques to position yourself as an authority in your industry. Social media is overcrowded and the information overload is here to stay. By becoming an authority in your industry your audience will be more inclined to pay attention to what you have to say in your niche.
How to become the go to person to your prospects so that they will seek you to find their answers?
Find the burning questions.
Becoming an authority on your niche requires you to provide answers that are differentiators. You may know a lot about your industry, now it’s time to identify the burning questions on your prospect’s mind and provide solutions to those questions. It’s all about solving problems and positioning yourself as the person with the answers.
The question is: What are people asking?
Produce content that matters.
With your list of questions now it’s time to produce great content that answers in a practical, actionable and insightful way. This means creating content that is relevant to getting your audience one step closer to the solutions they seek. Your content can be organized on a blog post or better yet, it can be a book, a 5 minute video, an hour webinar or a 30 minute podcast. Whichever format you choose, the goal must remain the same. Become the go-to resource for your prospects. Explaining the complex in simple terms and connecting with your audience is a must. This soft-sale approach is focused on being helpful with no-strings attached. Giving free advice is giving back to the community. To stand out from the already crowded information overload, your content must look great in essence and substance as well as its look and feel.
Building relationships with influencers.
Influencers already have an audience and if your content is good they will love to pass it along to their audience as sharing content is standard on everything social.
To know the influences, take your time to Google them, visit their content, subscribe and participate. If this sounds like a lot of work, it’s because it is a lot of work. You get out what you put in. Regardless how you approach this, be real. Don’t fake it and you will make it.
Public speaking gigs.
Speaking engagements can generate a positive buzz around your brand, links to your content and in some cases you may even get paid. I did a couple speaking engagements just to experience it and after that, every speaking engagement I spoke at I got paid, hotel comped and I got to promote my brand. So, don’t feel that you have to do it for free because the organizers asked you to.
Summary
If you were expecting a get famous quick approach here, I hope you have realized that there is a lot of work involved. But the payout is enormous.
