How Senior Citizens Can Publish a Book
Most of us grow-up collecting ideas, experiences and advice that we tend to place inside our proverbial “bucket-list”. Then when we achieve a certain time and place in life, we begin to stare more and more at the things we have been itching to finish. Each person’s bucket list is as unique as your thumbprint. As I researched the topic, I realized the majority of folks writing a book (or attempting to write one) have this as one of their top 3 priorities. So, knowing very well that writing a book alone is not an easy task and publishing a book alone is purely unprofitable, I began to outline a plan to make it easy for senior citizens to write and publish their ideas, experiences and advice.
Now is the time to write and publish your book. As any sci-fi fan can attest, one of the themes most explored has to do with passing wisdom to the next generation and actuality giving birth to immortal ideas. What if you could grab all your knowledge and wisdom and pass it to your grandchild? Would that be beneficial? Being over 50 will immediately give you a different perspective on life. The crazy things you experienced and had to overcome, the fact that it would be amazing if, one day, your great-great grandchild could read and learn about you, your likes, dislikes, experiences and life-lessons is a something we must not let slip by. Although, I read many history books, I would personally love to read something from my great-great grandfather. Being able to understand who he was and what he experienced through his lifetime would help educate me with understanding my roots; my history.
The idea of writing a book can also be seen as a way to be an eyewitness to the history around you. A way to etch your family legacy for future generations. This is one way to expose your creativity in storytelling or simply record the narrative of your life. A book is the perfect device to contain all of that. A book done right can bring a nice passive income while you get one more thing checked-off of your bucket-list.
